Additive and Subtractive

These series were creating "space" by either only adding shadow or only adding light. They are meant to be abstract. The ones where only light was added, I started with a piece of paper covered, heavily, in graphite powder and only used an eraser to create variation of tones. The other half is only adding graphite, without erasing anything. They were done without any intention at all, allowing the drawing to become what it wants to become. Crazy right? ha. Welcome to architecture school.
